Is there a very prominant reason why a LEO would take notice to your operation?
I've heard rumors that the energy companies can report you if your using a lot of energy with your light and fan systems but I think that is just for giant operations.

I guess; energy consumption, smell and transportation of materials. Energy consumption is only a problem for large grows. Heat can also be a problem when it melts snow or is detected by helicopters (also only a problem for larger grows.)
Oh and.. Don't tell anyone.

Smell escaping the house is a issue
Smell inside the house is a issue if you have visitors or if for some reason a cop entered your house
Purchasing materials heatbagly (go to a hydroshop owned by KNOWN criminals and your gold)
Transporting materils heatbagly (best to take a friends car, maybe detour home)
Disposing materials heatbagly(throwing out soil in your trash, nutrient containers, basically anything that can hint off your growing dr00gz)

You can use 1000watters per room in your house before shit gets suspecious. Snow melting off your room is never good

#1 reason people get raided:
Someone ratted on them.
Power, heat, buying things from a hydro shop can be suspicious, but what goes from "hummmmmm" to raid is someone in the know. Only one person should know about your grow... you.

I think another huge reason you see a lot of grow raids is stolen power. Power usage on its own won't draw any type of attention to your house unless you want to run like 40,000 watts worth of gear. However, you tap into that power line without paying for it and you'll have the power company on your ass in no time. Power companies are a business, if they're making money off of you they're not going to notice. If all of a sudden they notice a huge surge of power without someone footing the bill they're gonna sniff around.

would agree w/ stolen power. Recent big busts in town were due to stealing power; Why the hell would you be a thief when your already a criminal for growing in de casa?

but it's all the reasons above; or if you live in an apartment a pest control guy can be annoying. One time a pest control guy left his card w his name in my grow room, and i bitched the office people out saying he stole stuff and went through my old ladies panty drawer and then i changed the door knob to one w/ a lock. Still grew the weed  a lesson well learned

Whats the laws on changing the locks in your apartment? Im scared they wont tell me when they're supposed to do filter changes.

a lot of people change locks without asking... chances are your landlord won't find out till you move out.
if the lock is inside your apartment they cant really do shit cuz they should never even know lol

Coo thanks. When we moved in we made them clean stuff (Water damage under the sink, the dishwasher was left dirty... ect) and maintenance came in without notifying us and just left a note. I have no idea if they saw the two lil babies we had in the laundry room by where they worked but we havent had any problems... 6... maybe 7 months later now. Thats why i ask... But i took the bathroom lock and put it on the closet in the room and also lock my room door. But changing the deadbolt sounds like the end all solution...

Yeah, they are suppose to give 24 hr notice. however, if you are gone for an entire week that could happen and you wouldn't know. Last night I was going to change the deadbolt at like 3 am but I smoked some trainwreck and passed out. lol. Good luck with your situation though. If you're gonna change the locks it would be nice of you to change them back before you vacate the building.

I asked my mom and she said 24hr notice is common in most cities under the land renters guide which is basically law but anything in that shit can be basically broken if you have a contract saying so, unless it's something illegal or whatevaz.
She also said if one of her tenants changed the lock and she had to get in there she would just call a locksmith and give them the bill :P

Yea, i live in apartments. But thats not even the scariest part! But we wont go into details...
But yea, im for sure changing them now that i've seen and heard others opinions. And yea, i'll change them back because like Koons said... i dont want the bill. They charge an arm, leg, and your first born here...
