There should be a countdown. Thats weird, If there isnt, I believe the waiting period is 8 hours.
Although work doesnt start until your ships and supplies reach the new colony. That could also be a factor

There is no countdown for colonies. They are finished as soon as the trade ships reach the colony and return to your home port. So double the time it takes to travel there and it will be finished in that long. I had to search for a while on the wiki to find that out, I thought I broke somthing when I started my colony....
KP have you ever used any of the greasemonkey scripts from the wiki?

Greasemonkey is a firefox plugin that allows you to modify web content on the fly. So yes you could cheat with it if you were a good programmer but I was talking about the scripts that are Ikariam approved. They basically give you expanded views of everything and provide shortcuts for doing repetitive actions. Some of them recreate some of the ikariamPLUS features for free. Nothing special, just seeing if you had used them.

Its a simple enough not so time consuming game....I find it slightly addictive...and since its a free web browser game, you can play it anywhere anytime.
You build a town, you can colonize, and you can build armies, fight, and pillage...
ROFL I just thought how awesomely nerdy it would be if we all wore headsets and chatted about the game all serious like... (translates to me wanting more SKYPE FRIENDS DAMNIT! all I have are my Swedish boyz)
