Lighting Question
    #815444 - 06/21/16 05:42 AM (7 years, 9 months ago)

I'm growing some auto flowers. In the daytime I leave them in the sun and at night I bring them in and put them under a 400w HPS. When they are out in the sun the plants stretch up toward the sky like normal but when I put them under the light they kinda droop. I've moved the light from around 8 inches to around a foot and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't think heat is the issue as the reflector has a glass shield and I can place my hand above the plants without feeling much heat at all. Please advise me. Thanks.

They have just started to flower and are still fairly small. How high should the light be above them? 400w

Keep it higher than norm, these plants, imo, are simply adjusting thwmselves to the closer direct overhead light and prob maybe lack of humidity inside. The suns movement being vastly different than a stationary light. Id go up to bout 24" or so from canopy and see what i get there.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Was starting to wonder if I even exist! Yeah, I moved it up to around 18" and they seem to be doin ok. I think part of it was the growth slowing from switching to flowering.
