Making a vegetable glycerine Tincture

So after doing some research i decided to try my first Glycerin tincture .  I read that effects are felt in 15 Min's and last 3 hrs.  Making the buzz closer to smoking then a edible.




So i ordered 4ozs of VG online. and a couple dropper vile bottles so i can dose anywhere.  With the new baby comming i needed a way to medicate with no smell and lowkey as possible (family are gonna be around lots in the future.)



Online it said use 1-2 gms per oz of VG.  that dosage sounded light to me.....  so i did 3 gms per oz of VG (12gms of purple kush ).  I then added 10 grams of vaped weed afterwards to make it extra potent :crazy2:










Next i decarbed the buds for the tincture (i read this is important to make it potent) for about 20 Min's or so




the decarbed weed getting ready to add to the VG (i added the vapped buds a few days after)


I read it takes a month with no heat.... or a day with heat..... so i decided to heat it a few times a day with a candle warmer.... after 2-3 weeks of this it was ready.  the liquid was soooo dark compaired to pics online so i knew it was ready








reading online i found the hardest part is straining it.... VG is sooo thick that straining it with a coffee filter wont work.  Most people use cheese cloth so u can squeeze it out..... well i heated it before so the VG would be easier to to strain.

I found this small strainer in the basement.  It actually worked perfect.  i was able to squeeeze every drop i could out and i didnt lose a shit load from the cheese cloth absorbing it.  So it worked good



This morning i put 1/3rd of teaspoon in my coffee im just starting to feel the effects now. 

My dropper bottles have not arrived yet... but when they do, ill upload a finished pic

I like how you heated it with a candle warmer.  I might try that with my next batch of tinture. Except I'm gonna have to hook a timer up to the candle warmer, my stoner ass will forget to turn the warmer back on. :lol:

Nice tek, I've got some VG that I bought a while back to do this but I never ended up trying it.
Let me know how that 1/3 tsp does you.

Thanks boys....  Ya its a pretty easy non toxic teq. :thumbup:

The high seems more of a relaxing body high, then it is heady.  That dose at lunch didn't fuck me up too much..... but i also have a big tolerance right now

i vaped some sour d shortly after and was feeling real nice.  Almost time to vape some moar :cool:

I used a coffee warmer for mine. I also used cheese cloth with a warm product. Here is a lil tip. Once you have everything squeezed out. Add a lil VG to the herb and give it another good squeeze :wink: this gets the dredges out.

I HATE to see cannabis go to waste :crankey:

I just made a PG/VG tincture to use in my e-cig. I mixed 50/50 of the PG & VG in a 8oz mason jar with the ground up cannabis & put the lid on. I put the mason jar in a saucepan with water, using a thermometer to keep the temp between 160-180 degrees, I had it sit in the water for about 6 hours. It has been sitting in the jar for about 24 hours now. I've been doing research online, and some say to let in sit in the jar for a month or two, shaking the jar a few times a day, and others say it's ready now. Not sure which is right so I will wait a month & then strain it :cool:

cool thanks i'll check amazon, right now I just have a 90mm butchner funnel, and coffee filters, also a shit load of mason jars with rings to hold filter but butchner is better.
