 Dog peed the bed

So I have a 6 year old pit mix that peed the bed for the first time last night (twice!). She is a very well-behaved dog and I have never had any kind of problems like this. I am kind of freaking out hoping it's not something serious. I know the fireworks last night scared her but I doubt it was enough to cause the pee. I have been reading that spayed females have problems controlling their bladders and have to take Prion or something like that. I guess I will find out Monday when I take her to the vet.
The worst part about all this is she layed in her pee all night, I assume because she was ashamed and didn't want us to see it. Poor girl. 
Anyone else ever have this problem?

I have it happen to a number of them during the fireworks. I run a shelter that is paid for with the seed business and hate and like the 4th of July at the same time. Love the fireworks and crap but hate what it does to the animals. (not just dogs)

no worries man, i pee the bed all the time. i too lay in it due to feeling ashamed. what i usually do when i do pee the bed is sneak up, grab one of the kids, lay them in the pee spot, take a shower, then sleep out on the couch.
"yeah, i slept on the couch because i felt over crowded in bed once said kid laid down with us. why, what happened?"

This pit pup I've been dog sitting pissed in my bed, right on my pillow.
Needless to say this dog now gets insta-kennel'd the second it fucks up.
It won't stop biting my 4 year old pit's ears until he cries.

On this note, it's finally getting to the point in my adult life where owning a card no longer seems optional.
Our back yard is fenced in though; 2-3 times a day I just let them run until they are so tired they lay down.
