 storing bud for long periods of time

What is the best way to store bud?
I have a friend who keeps it in jars, but its always dried out.
Back in the day when I smoked I would keep it in a tupaware(sp?) That sat in the freezer, but that also dried out.

i got batches of weed that are 3+ years old still... i keep a nice stash of all the best buds that i come across
I just make sure they are dried good and double or triple layer air seal em in the food saver.
The smoke comes out still potent, but does tend to lose smell over long periods
This is a great way to store hash too
