 Good strain for sleeping and pain

hey all my new girl has super super bad Insomnia and can go some time a couple days with out sleep and was wondering if anybody would know of any really good strains that will nock her the fuck out so she can get some sleep.. and that is also great for pain.

I haven't tried very many medical strains so I wont have the best input.
but from my experience Grape Ape will knock you out. it had a lot of couch lock for me. I couldn't really do anything besides sit and watch TV after smoking

Best thing for sleep is to make it into food and ingest it. When I make a batch of brownies, ~24cupcake size I end up eating those and sleeping like a champ over a few days until they run out. Valerian root and melatonin are good for sleep as well.
Chemdawg is a good one. Its one of those buds that you can smoke when high and still feel a bit higher.

Burmese kush always puts me down for a nap. Dont really like to smoke it anymore unless its bed time. Lol
Like phychotron said edibles are the best way to get sleepy.

Shit I have trouble staying awake on anything indica. I'm not sure I've witnessed any obvious pain loss from cannabis, but I see it listed as a benefit all the time.

Yeah I don't know what's up with that either. Sometimes smoking actually accentuates certain pains and makes them feel like they're amplified, or moving around. If I smoke while on pain pills it negates the effect slightly and causes some weird aches.
If it works for some people though..

Oh yea that's right. Sometimes when I smoke and am in pain it gets more intense or I start bugging out about it. I had some internal infection once after I smoked some weed the pain got way too intense and I was worried I was going to die. I actually called my doctor, and he fairly quickly established that I was just high. He was a really cool doctor.
Maybe it's only pain that people deal with for long periods of time that it relieves? Not sure, but I would be horrible at distinguishing what medicinal effects any strain has vs any other.

i got a vial of CO2 extracted kosher kush kief the first time i went to a dispensary. i still have some of it, it's so strong. i top a bowl or 2 at night and im OUT.

There is a strain called LSD that is great for pain and sleep. Most indica strains will do though. Just let the trichs go a little longer than usual.

Not necessarily trying to shoot down your decision, especially since I didn't offer any suggestions, but I've always been disappointed with the potency of purple strains I've tried and I notice that suggestions of "pain relief" tend to be tied to high potency. So something to consider.
Although Ken's GDP might be good. The 2 Kens GDP strains(phantom cookies/candyland) I have going are clearly superior in growth/health than anything else I have. Hopefully they are superior in quality.
Some late suggestions... When I think of potent/all or mostly indica strains I think of Mazar I sharif, LA Affie, afgooey, x18 pakistani, bubba kush, maybe Tahoe OG or just chemdawg. Mainly just afghani and Pakistani stuff I guess.
