Hows THIS for ya

Turns out I'm spending New Years alone in my dads house, and I have about £15 worth of weed knocking about. I already smoked like a quarter of a one skinner joint today with a friend and felt nothing again. Saying as if I've got nothing to do, would it be wise for me to make another one skinner joint and smoke the whole thing? Bearing in mind I've never felt the effects of cannabis before.

Smoke a bowl, fuck all this joint shit I'm hearing about.

A bowl is (IMO) the best way for a newbie to smoke; no learning curve for rolling, with a joint your weed is burning away while you try to hold hits, so if you're watching your weed burn away you'll naturally want to get to hitting it faster and quit holding hits, therefore absorbing less cannabinoids less efficiently in your bloodstream.

And besides, bowls are more efficient than any joints or blunts. :stoned:

I disagree, I think a joint is the way to go for noobs. It's just like smoking a cig and a whole joint always gets me high as shit. :shrug:

I guess I can see your point, but I wasn't used to smoking cigs when I first started smoking bud. I think my biggest reason for not recommending joints is the lack of consistency and control.

If it's rolled too tight, it burns too slow and it doesn't matter how much I smoke, if I don't get a good full hit each time, I'm getting nowhere. If it's rolled too loose, it burns fast, it's easy to have some fall out when the paper burns around it, and there may not even be much in the joint if it's loose.
With no filter (unlike cigs) it's easy to pinch down too hard on the joint with your lips and make it hard to get a hit.

With a bowl, you grind the bud, load it up, light and inhale. Unless you force an enormous amount in your bowl, it's never going to be too hard to hit, and will always be a good, full hit. There's no worry of it "running" and losing bud, no worries of tearing the paper, no problems with watching it all burn away.

To each his own I guess. :shrug:

Yeah I def get what your saying, but since I roll my own cigs I can roll a joint pretty well, and even noobs never have problems.

Seems like more of a learning curve with a bowl IMO, they get too focused on how to use the carb, and it sucks when your a noob and the bowl cashes out into your mouth lol

Everyone needs to learn how to roll/smoke a joint at some point, but yea I have to say that IMO a bowl or small bong is a little easier to prepare than a joint.  :bongload:

I guess it just depends on what you want to learn first, rolling a joint or operating a bowl/bong. I would have to agree that pipes and the like help to save your bud, but if I have a decent amount laying around I actually prefer the experience of rolling/smoking a joint.

Damn now I want to go pick up some rolling papers  :burnone:

I think I've only used a screen once...

I've used the shit out of those little glass jacks (looks like a jack from the jacks game). They do an awesome job of isolating ash to the bowl.

Those are perfect for bongs with their big ass holes in the bowl. It's pretty easy to burn through one of the brass screens when there's a group of people torching the shit out of it through a bong.

Coming from sombody who never uses a bowl I would agree it's easier for sombody to get a feel for bud via a piece for the first time. That being said everyone should learn how to roll. I prefer blunts and actually have gotten rid of every piece I had due to lack of use.

This is the same weed 2 of my friends have smoked and they got high, yet im still feeling nothing...

My first time smoking tha herb I was in Europe stationed near Holland. My friends had gone and gotten 5 grams of some killer weed. We smoked one between 3 people and I got nothing from it. I was a smoker so I knew how to hit it. They rolled one more that me and another person split. Still nothing for me, yet everyone else is fried. They rolled the last fat joint for me to smoke alone. Once I had it down I finally got high.

Very interesting never came across a situation like that. If that truly was the case I stand corrected lol. Was just speaking from personal experience. I don't believe I got "high" my first time but I also do not recall the amount smoked. But shortly after starting (waaaay back in HS) a j of some nug would do me just fine. Not like now with years of built tolerance.

Same, the first 2 times I smoked I didn't feel anything except in my lungs :feelsgoodman:

The third time my buddies were determined to get me high, we invited a few friends over and had several small bongs running around a circle...after about the 3rd bong rip i was getting light-headed, by the 6th I was feeling it enough to stop smoking...and 10 minutes later I was all but comatose :dawerp:

Don't worry thunderfuck, you'll get hit by the THC express soon enough...
