Can i veg using a 400w hps? Im on a limited budget and am Trying to get this thing rolling on a shoe string budget! I would appreciate any feed back..

But yes you can veg with a 400w HPS.

Yup. There are lots of people who veg and flower with only HPS bulbs.

You can always veg using CFL if you have a few portable lamps and 15$ for a few high lumen CFL
or use the HPS AND some CFL if it makes you feel better, but the hps will work I'm sure. The light should have full spectrum of color, just not as much of what you need as a MH would.

CFL bulb prices have over skyrocketed in the last year or so, before I was able to get a 4 pack of 26w bulbs for $9, now they want $13 for just two of the exact same bulb. I think it has something to do with banning incandescents.

Well a 4 dollar increase for half the amount? That's a big increase.

$2.25>6.50 each is a huge jump, almost 3 times the price. The smaller bulbs under 20w are still decent prices, but the larger one's just got real expensive one day.
