Burning wood creates CO2, my logic says it's a good thing

No it is not beneficial for plants. Burning wood creates a whole lot more than CO2, and all those other particulates, plants don't really care for.
Is it going to super detrimental, probably not. But it's by far not beneficial.

You in Oregon? I feel your pain man. I don't think it is good, but it shouldn't completely ruin your grow.
