hey guys right now my plants are still in vegging I have 12 plants in a 5x8x8 tent I built and im running a 400 cfm inline fan with a 400cfm carbon filter from active air and my house reaks... now did get a reall crappy brand or something?  or do carbon filters just don't take out 100% of the smell?

im a little nervous cause when I go into flowering it know the smell will get worse.. and im doing my grow in my multi fam house that I own..

Cfm - Cubic Feet per Minute - so if your room is 320cu ft, and you need to exchange air 3 times a minute.. I think that you need 960cfm with like a 80lb filter if you want 0 smell.

Most likely, that room is too big for that filter.

I have a 40sq ft tent, and I use a 4" Filter. Smell still leaks through in late flowering.

Yeah you need some more ventilation.

Seeing as how you're pulling through a lot of ducting, I'd say you're getting about 200 Cfm out of that fan on full setting.
