I've recently ordered seeds that didn't open with the wet paper towel method. They have been in the paper towel for 3 weeks. I was wondering if anyone had tried or heard of dipping the seed in root hormone to encourage germination? or is it just wishful thinking?

i generally soak for 24hr.
then into moist paper towel inside ziplok bag.
put on top of fridge.
usually pop within 24hr.
as for the rooting hormone meh.
if they didn't pop, probably not gonna

Did you make sure to keep the paper towels wet the entire time? What were your temps? Was it in the dark?

The paper towel stayed wet inside a zip lock bag. temps. in the lower 80's day mid 70's at night. I didn't keep it in a specially dark area but inside the house with natural light. I germinated many seeds before with this method but the ones I wait, worry, and pay for don't. just so disappointing.I've have some older strains and was wanting to try some new ones and cross my own but was to paranoid to order.

I would check your temp and keep them warm and constant.
Even just scraping them a little can help.
I've had seeds that didn't germinate for two weeks before.
