Does the price seem reasonable for what they are?

Provided your eyes were protected, spending some time in your grow room during Winter could help boost vitamin D levels and help prevent seasonal depression, especially if you live in an area that gets little or no day light during these times.

Quite a bit if you actually spend any amount of time under them.

I'm always above my reflector, so I rarely see the bulb. Seeing true colors in the grow room would be sweet though.

As in you will see negative side effects from having not used glasses? What exactly is causing the harm?

Vision loss due to cataracts or solar retinopathy or other problems. Some parts of the UV spectrum are ionizing which can cause cancer. On the flipside, artificial light, in lieu of sunlight, can be used to treat various conditions and UV radiation helps the body produce vitamin D. A lack of vitamin D can cause rickets and other problems.

Yeah I didn't balk at the sticker price at all. That's about what my normal sunglasses cost anyways.

I can't even wear sunglasses because I wear normal glasses. I have to get prescription ones.

What about some contacts? Then you can put those shades over your contacts.
I use glasses but luckily only for reading. I can still read without but after about 10 minutes or so I get horrid eye strain *shakes fist*.

Well, the idea of contacts really really freaks me out. That, and I've worn glasses so long that they are part of my face at this point. I like how glasses make me look actually :]
