Yup, got it done on Monday, thanks!
It took 8.5 hours. I have to go back once it's healed so that the artist can finish the flowers and touch it up some.

So what's the significance to you? First question, do you have a wife and child? second question, are you of Latin American descent? Those are the first two things that jump out at me when I see it.

Nah, it's just a piece I'm using to represent life.
I have this whole life and death / dualism theme going on with my tattoos.

Nope, no wife, no child.
I'm using the piece to represent life.
I do have some latin american blood, but that isn't the reason I chose that day of the dead girl.
I chose it because I really liked the design and my artist specializes in it. Also, my tattoos are life / death themed and I thought it would be cool to have a portrayal of death on my "life" side. It symbolizes how life and death are interweaved.

Ok word, in that case I really fucking like it
I just can't ever judge a tattoo until I know the symbolism behind it, that's the important part IMO
