Top five regrets of the dying
    #607865 - 02/01/12 07:44 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

I thought this was interesting earlier today.  I feel like im doing pretty good along these lines.   Though i need to stay better connected to my old friends.  Facebook was good for that, but my old friends are so much different than i've become.  I can't talk to them about psychedelics or self enhancement when they are talking non stop about their children.  it's a difficult balance to find.  your thoughts?

1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.

3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Mine will be not to be on mescalin at the moment of my death.

--------------------
Pour un instant, j'ai respiré très fort
Ça m'a permis de visiter mon corps
Des inconnus vivent en roi chez moi
Moi qui avait accepté leurs lois
J'ai perdu mon temps à gagner du temps
J'ai besoin de me trouver une histoire à me conter
Pour instant j'ai oublié mon nom
Harmonium - Pour un instant

I want to be trippin on mescalin on my bed of death?

Just like Albert Hofmann (I think it was him I am not sure) asked for LSD before his death.

this is older isn't it?

PS as someone dealing with some serious medical issues, and likely to croak in a few years, I can tell you you're never prepared to face it on a personal level.  Because up to that point it's merely an intellectual idea, an abstraction

oh i get ya.  so you want to be on mescaline when death strikes.  have you read This Timeless Moment by Laura Huxley?  or Honor Thy Daughter?  both of those deal with ecstatic death.  it's pretty interesting.  I'd like to die under the influence of a lsd and mdma.  but, you know, it's certainly easy to say that now, not being in the face of death.  it takes a hell of a lot of strength to do something like that.  i only hope to be so fortunate.

I make a conscious effort everyday to be aware of the oneness that constitutes my spirituality. I feel the guilt immediately if I knew I hadn't spent the day as I should have. But the next day is a new day with fresh feeling. And I know people everywhere are feeling successful and they are an extension of me just like the less fortunate are.

For us to [usually] have a perfectly capable mind that can freely associate and comprehend what we consider as morally weak (for lack of better terminology), and consequently stimulate negative thoughts like regret or self-pity, and we do nothing to seek the positive higher self doesn't make sense to me, personally.

So true man, I'll take a look at these books, seems quite interesting!

But yeah I totally agree with saying that is it easy to say right now, but when facing death, might me a totally other thang...

Before I read this, I was going to post about being okay with a random death. I don't need preparation or a bucket list. The point is to live like life wont end.

Sorry to hear that kyu. I feel it must be hard to see experation date.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

In other words: Get rich and die trying.

I mean really, I'd rather live a short life of exquisite riches than a long life barely being able afford existence.

Our minds refuse the idea of death until we are face to face with it.

Kyuzo, I have a family member with cancer (The reason i started growing again to be honest, beside my own medical need.) I know how it feels not being the one facing the exp date, as a family member. So I can't begin to imagine how you must feel. Stay strong friend, you are in my prayers.
