Thats not exactly a reliable source, if Hoffmann died I would think it would be on the news. At 103 though, you really can't ask for much more.

Yup, it's true. MAPS recieved confirmation several hours ago, and the story has made it to the mainstream media.
I don't think we should be sad and bummed; he lived a very full and satisfied life... death had apparently been very much on his mind since his wife Anita died this past December.
Rather than be sad, I think we should all take a moment to reflect on how his discovery has affected us personally. He was a great man, with a very articulate sense of the importance that psychedelics hold with regard to human developement. Let's celebrate his life, rather than mourn his passing.
