Yeah this show is kickass, I like the story with the black guy and his mom who disapproves of the whole thing, that was some good tv.

yeah, they are. They are in oakland. Im in sacramento. it's an hour and a half drive from here. I stayed in oakland last week from wed - monday but never got around to going.

i watched the first 3 eps tonight, deff cool show. I like that discovery channel is showing the positive side to (Medical) Marijuana
If i worked there I would want the "buyers" job, he gets to see all the new strains and He can pick and choose what the store buys. Plus getting "samples" all day would be awesome  .
I also like how growers can go there, and sell their smoke to the store like that, thats pretty cool....

I laughed at the start of ep 3 when that sketchy guy was crying saying "this is where i will be working forever, i love this place.. etc.
Then towards the end of the ep he gets caught stealing a p of weed for his pain pill addiction, and gets canned ...

Yeah that was also some good tv.
Holy shit that 65 year old guy from tonight's episode had me cracking the fuck up. When he ripped that bowl of chemdog and the music queued I lost my shit. Then the next day when he wanted hash I was

It was so painful too watch, I was really high and super embarrassed for him when he was trying to smoke it like meth. When he finally realized how to do it and he got smoke and the music played it felt so good, but I still feel someone should have helped him. I mean if a professional smoker sat down with him, showed him how to pack a bowl and smoke it properly. Give him a few days trying some different strains and getting used to cannabis before moving onto hash.
He was like- "That hash really zombifies me."

I've seen through episode 4. I'm still liking the show, but I'm really disappointed that Steve DeAngelo doesn't support legalization for "recreational" use. I'm going to keep watching it though.

yeah, it is! It focuses on all the drama behind the business. It really takes the fun out of it, imo. the last episode I saw was about one of the purchasers for the club. that'd be such a dream job for soooo many of us. and he tried to steal from them.

i'm watching this old guy get high now, on hash... he says that he didn't get the "spiritual awakening" that he was hoping for with straight weed and decided he needed something stronger. 
hilarious... he's so baked right away... i'm almost jealous. waits all his life to try Cannabis once, as a spiritual awakening.

yeah! I watched that one last night. I wanted to ask him if he'd tried psychedelics. I haven't met anyone who had a spiritual awakening of any kind from cannabis. but im sure there are a lot of people that are extra sensitive to it. That show made it look as if the producers flew him out here to cali, to stay long enough to get a script and try some weed. Then when he didn't like it he decides to go back home to his family?! Really weird. i mean, how much research does someone have to do to find out that you don't smoke weed like meth?

From an online article I just googled weed wars is being sued by a producer that developed the show originally for discovery channel and then she got edged out the deal and they moved on without her renaming the show Weed Wars, the original show was called Greener Pastures.
This sucks I love Weed Wars I was just talking to a budtender yesterday about how funny it was...... the budtender said the show was bullshit maybe he's was jealous.

I just watched these episodes on Netflix and these guys are total assholes. They only want medical legal so they can keep making fat stacks at their bullshit club. He literally said "I don't smoke to get 'high'" but throughout the entire show they just act like a bunch of stoners. "Oh I can't figure out what tie to wear I better smoke a bowl..." How the fuck is smoking before your wardrobe selection medicinal?
Honestly I think they embarrassed themselves and did way more damage than good to the reputation of cannabis.

After reading this thread I decided to watch the show on Netflix,
I wouldn't nessacaraly say it was "a piece of shit" but it was rather silly.
Granted I have only watched the first episode of it.
And as far as why that Steve guy didn't support recreational use I'm sure is just simpally a PR move.
He would be eaten alive saying that being the owner of the largest megial store in the world.

But theses guys aren't in it for profit supposedly.
According to this show in California medical shops have to be 100% nonprofit.
They made something like 21 million but are having trouble with coming up with 1 million for texes.
Also most of the medical stores around where I live (Colorado) plan on opening up addions to their current stores once the recreational laws go into place to serve those customers too.
They just need to have separate doors and bud bars fornthe different types of customrrs,
the recreational customers will also be paying more due to taxes medical customers will not be experiencing.
