I see quite a lot of various brand of grow tents on places like Ebay but unfortunately there are usually no reviews on the brand tell you more about them.
Is there big risk then , in going with these alternative brands or KO brands without the knowing in hindsight how good they are,and has any one had good experiences from certain sellers or brands using this approach ?
Are there any warning signs in particular to look out for , that might give you an indication of how good the tent will be?

I picked up a tent from ebay for 31.00 brand new 3X3x6.5 at auction. It had no brand name and bought it from
LEDwholesalers
and I love it! Retail is like 120.00 for the same tent. Just gotta watch for deals.

I also bought my 4x4 tent cheaply online. I wish I hadn't gone the cheap route. The seams all leak light in and out of the tent, and there's dozens of pinprick holes on the sides as well. It will only ever be a veg tent, because I wouldn't trust the girls not to hermie in there.

Some of the good tents including the Secret Jardins aren't 100% lightproof. A lot of people get defective zippers or zippers that let light through. That's the biggest problem with any tent I think since it's extra important to be light proof when you have multiple tents or lights on different light cycles around each other with nothing but the tent to stop the light from being shared.
Most hydroshops in Canada are carrying the jardins, hydrohuts, or cheap lame brand stuff that basically just sells to people who are looking to buy a tent without any info on what to look for in a tent. I recall a 4x8' that was no name going for under $300 and a Jardin is $500 here for a 4x8' so it's very tempting to someone especially on a budget.
