So imagine that you will see the world in 40 or more years from today. Imagine that in that time America has ceased to exist as we know it. For the sake of the argument imagine that new lines are drawn over time and the name America no longer exists as a geographical location nor as a governmental system.
What would you tell young people America was like?
This is not a political statement or a bated question, I am simply curious in the answers.
For me I think I would say that America started out with the best intentions and despite it's many flaws we were the first people to take this idea of becoming whatever you wanted to be and running with it. Even though it was not the best system and it would never have lasted, it really was something special to be a part of.

Well said. I never understood why many people have such negative outlooks on America. There is no doubt our country has flaws. That could be said about every country though. Not one place is perfect

if I lived somewhere that ceased to exist and was lost to history I'd tell people it was like atlantis, a futuristic utopia
