are these ready?
    #585090 - 09/10/11 09:27 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

Hello,

When does THC content peak? Would silica gel speed up the curing process (after they're air dried for some days)?

Didn't quite understand if there's more THC (or THC-convertable chemicals) present when they're amber or cloudy. Also do pistils have to be orange or whitish?

Thank you

How long have they been flowering? What strain? What kind of light?

Dunno. But pistils keep forming on lower branches, while the colas could have started forming/packing 5 weeks ago.

Which criterias should one keep in mind to be sure they're ready?

What do you mean you don't know??  When did you turn to 12/12??  Whered you get the genetics??

At first glance they don't look like they're ready to be harvested.  YOu know they're ready when 50% of the trichomes are amber.

Dunno 'cos they're wild and could be an autoflowering strain, since sun still shines more than 14 hours/day.

Well just because there's light for 14 hours doesn't mean its enough light in the first and end part of the day.

Regardless, keep an eye on the trichomes.  50% and your golden.

They'd be 16 hours, I didn't count them carefully. It isn't even that shaded, so it may still be an autoflowering.

In case it is an auto, may it continue vegging and survive to the next year? (it never gets near freezing temps)

Nope, autoflowers flower and die.  Hence the name auto flower.  Or did you mean isn't and auto flower??

Too bad, never encountered a wild one before this and it was nice.
I thought autos were named so just 'cos they flower after a certain amount of time.

Well all marijuana plants die after flowering.

I'm sure they survive. Unless your weather is too cold, they'll survive and get old, I've heard of this many times. Dunno about autos, but regular ones do.

Nope, you can return one to vegatitive state when put under 24 hours of light, but in the wild they are a perrineal plant.

Ok so I'm getting confused. You said all cannabis plants die after flowering. I've heard they continue to live and get old unless it's too cold. Now you say they're a perennial plant, which means they get older than a year.

Does this apply to autos too? Are you saying that they should survive too?

Thank you

in nature theyre annual or aka a 'short' perenial.

in nature they germinate in spring, veg in summer bloom then die in the fall leaving behind more seeds that will be preserved in the winter ready to germanate againn the next spring.

Indoor however a vegetating plant can live indefinitley, that is if kept under at least 18/6 light/dark periods.

An indoor flowering plant can be reverted back to vegetative growth using the same 18/6 light cycle instead of 12/12.

oh and those are no where near ready by the way, at least 4 more weeks
trichs should be milky amber to amber depending on how sleepy you like to be, hairs should be mostly orange. you dont
want to speed up the curing process, the longer the better.  but yea it would absorb moisture from the bud but u really dont need it unless mold is a problem.

As long at the stumps are watered and the winter isn't to harsh there is no reason those won't start back up in the spring. I've had it happen when I grew in Hawaii and here in Cali tons of times. Just not with autoflowers. Not saying it can't happen I just haven't grown autos much since I'm not a fan of them.
