Wether it's too late or not depends on where you live. For instance, here it would not have time to finish flowering before the nights start to freeze.

well i got it outside tonight wraped some chicken fencing around it till i ca fix it tomarrow its sitting next to my poppy plant well one of them hopefully it yields something at least a taste of opium and a bunch of seeds

so uh i put my plant out and went to fix the chicken wire and i noticed al the hairs are turning orange very orange over nite is it the rain?

Well for one they could just be maturing, or it could be from stress. Either way I wouldn't be concerned about it.

My guess would be cooler weather prompting the plant to try and mature.
