Go to walmart get some organic seeds and sow and plant them in the ground...or inside...and then read how to grow them.

you can order all kinds of poppy seeds online, and they're cheap. I'm sure there are some sponsors that have some for sale

yeah, im pretty sure poppies are poppies...as long as its Papaver somniferum it will produce opium. they're so common, which is kind of funny but so are morning glory, you know?

I have heard like the tazmanian and a few others are best a quick Google search or search at shroomery.org will probably give you the answer. This thread is old.

Where abouts are you. There a probably many places that can mail them to you.
If you live in Australia, you can get the Tasmanian strain at the supermarket. Lol
Australia has the biggest legal poppy grow for medications and they use Tasmanian in tasmania. So the seeds get sold in the supermarket.
I have some in the pots in the backyard which have just sprouted

u can get poppy seeds at bulk barn for dirt cheap..
kids around here make a tea from the poppy seeds and claim to get a buzz...

I got a couple batches of 5000 seeds from ebay!!! they were 3.00 bucks a pack! and they grew and grew and grew... the rest I cant say

So, you live in the U.S. and were able to find Papaver Somniferum seeds at Walmart? I live in the U.s too and, when I checked my local Walmart recently, they only had California Poppy and some kind of Orientalis strain that doesn't produce opium. May I ask what kind/strain you were able to find at Walmart? I've heard of some Walmarts selling the Hens and Chicks variety, but was unable to find them. I hear that Hens and Chicks is a pretty weak strain of PS Poppy, but at this point I'll take any variety I can. I live on a large tract of isolated, rural land in the mountains of the south eastern U.S. with no neighbors, so I could grow a beautiful plantation within a season or two. I would much rather have the Turkish White, Royal Blue, Turkish Cross, and a couple other strains, but where to buy at the store (online isn't really an option for me, long story) We have mineral rich soil and high altitude, which I hear these plants like.

Yeah, I realize that I'm late to the party, but I'm new (just heard of this site today). I thought someone may notice a new post in this thread (as you did) and be able to provide an answer because purchasing P. Somniferum seeds online is not an option for me (as I said, it's a long story). I was just hoping that someone could point me in the right direction for obtaining them locally. I have looked online and found several vendors (all seemed pricey, but I would pay it if I were able to buy online, the seeds were from a strain that's good and strong and seeds haven't been washed or sterilized). That's why I posted. Most threads on here seem to be old, but the site is still up so I registered and thought I would inquire, hoping to get an answer.

I got mine off eBay but the listing gets pulled as soon as they see them tho. I think Mc cormick brand at the grocery store are the right ones. Not sure about germination rates tho. Good luck and be careful.
