Question about growing organically
    #568880 - 07/01/11 03:29 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I'm using this soil mix from the "Organics for beginners" thread:

LC's Soiless Mix #2:
6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up)
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.

The thread also gives a list of dry ferts and teas to use as the plants food source.

A friend gave me a few bottles of General Organics liquid ferts.  My question is... If I'm planning on feeding with the General Organics ferts, do I still need to mix in the dry ferts for the plants food source?  Or would that be giving the plants a double dose of the same ferts?  Sry if this is a silly question lol.  Thanks for any advice.

I wouldn't add any, I like my soilless or soil to have no or very little nutrients as possible.
