Or are you just stupid?

I made a water bottle bong a while ago, got high and completely forgot i made a bong out of a water bottle.:facepalm:

Back in the day, we put koolade in a home made bong. It was red koolade and looked awesome with the white smoke bubbling around in it.

We passed it around and all took a sip just to see. I was probably 16. Everyone did it except the 2 girls that were there. They will never let us forget it either. No matter what stupid shit one of them says, we always get a "well, at least we didn't drink the bong water".

I've had a few small bongs that are notorious for givin you a taste of delicious bong water. They are just hella short so you can't hot them hard at all, gotta do it nice and slow otherwise you'll drink water. Almost everyone of my friends that have smoked out of these bongs got a nice mouthful their first time. I warned em too but nobody listened, haha. Bong water is gross as fuck though...smells gnar too. Which is why I clean my bongs/bubblers daily.

You ever been really, really sober? I'm talking "no drugs at all for a couple of weeks and none for the foreseeable future" kind of sober. And then, I remembered that the water in the bong filters out some THC in addition to the nastiness.... long story short I didn't get high off the bong water. But the story was funny or desperate sounding enough to get a homeboy to smoke me out so meh. Mission Accomplished?

I thought it was common knowledge that as far as THC efficiency goes, joint>pipes>bongs, but bongs are awesome for blasting a shit ton of THC straight to the bloodstream because although the THC concentration may be lower, the total volume of smoke taken in over a set period of time is significantly increased. Don't get me wrong a joint will destroy me but its more of a pleasant destruction, bongs rip my face off most of the time, like being hit with a marijuana freight train.

actually THC will form a film on the surface of the water that sticks to the glass around the waterline...so all you are drinking is all the water-soluble shit that you really dont want.

THC condenses slightly in the water...it does happen in small amounts every time you smoke, but that doesn't mean it's dissolved in the water, as it is pretty much insoluble in water. It floats around on the surface like an oil until turbulence causes it to collide with the sides of the bong, this is why a dirty ring forms at the water line if you dont change your water or you don't clean your glass regularly.

I don't know, between the constant aeration of the water and the anti-bacterial effects of smoke, it could be cleaner than you think.

How come even in some of the dirtiest bongs I've seen, there has never been any noticeable fungal or bacterial culture?

Not saying there wouldn't be some present, but it seems like the action of the bong itself kills off a lot of these. Worst case you drink a shit ton of dead organisms.

yeah good point, not enough nutrition in that water that will breed up significant bacteria to get you killed

i was thinking instead of drinking the water why not just let it dry out in a cup and smoke the resin thats left behind, :shrug: little less nasty that drinking straight up bongwater

or just clean your bong after it gets that nice brownish film built up around the waterline, say with acetone, then evaporate in a dish and scrape up just like an oil extraction. This will ensure that all of that water soluble nastiness goes down the drain instead of in your body. Just a thought :shrug:

I used to think the same, that any significant growth in a bong would be impossible. That is, until I cleaned my friend's double perc for him and a green fungal mass came out of the main chamber. Neither of us got sick, but it shows that its possible nonetheless.

did that with everclear and my steam roller, really harsh nasty admittedly potent resin

that is the point of water filtration though, with a dry pipe you are going to get THC resin that condenses and sticks to the side, plus all the other crap that sticks to the resin. With water filtration, at least some of the more polar compounds are filtered out prior to the resin sticking to the glass. This should result in a slightly purer, less harsh type of resin.

its all based on research and a decent knowledge of chemistry, material sciences, and just what I think would happen based on that knowledge and what I've heard from other stoners :gethigh:

I personally think drinking bong water is retarded, but thats my opinion and not based on any fact :dumblol:
