Try adding a tablespoon of cooking oil to your bong water to keep it clean. The oil soluble resin stays off the glass.

when light passes through a slit like that it becomes polarized, only light going at a certain direction will pass through it, in this case, up and down.

http://science.howstuffworks.com/innovation/everyday-innovations/sunglass5.htm

there are a bunch of small led lights in there, each light should represent one led. Some may not be as visable in the photos, due to shutter time and how much i had the door opened. as i open the door they blend into one single color.

So leds really travel straighter then most lights, almost like a laser. At least thats the way it looks.

you'll notice in the first two photo's that their is the yellow light from the CPF doing the same thing (becoming polarized by passing through a slit). it's just what happens to it.  but the led has a grip of light sources at varying wavelengths.
