Its just like a live chat box for the forum where everyone can chat or simply type something small for everybody to see or even noobs to leave a message or two saying hi.
Theres even some free ones available to implement around the next.
I know we have the IRC but that takes time to load and nobody is ever on,, this would stay right on the forum and would be easy and very useful.

Why not?
It could be used for anything from broadcasting a quick message, to a group chat and would even be useful for helping people with cultivation and other stuff easily without waiting for posts or making new threads that arent really needed.
It would do more good than bad.

I mean I agree with it being useful sometimes I suppose...Just saying it should be written to check for cookies to be sure you've logged in recently from that computer and the cookie would expire in like 2 days so you have to login every 2 days to renew yer cookie and continuing using the shoutbox.
now um...i dont think anyone is going to do that. i just PERSONALLY think people should have to register to use the site.
Plus, shoutbox allows ANYONE....this includes people under 18. So, again with this kind of site you have to protect yourself---the owners that is. Plus protect their revenue...People quit signing up..............people quit advertising n shit.
It probably wouldn't cause any of the above but you get triptonic on the shoutbox fucking ruining it for everyonre

there used to be one on the Shroomery years ago, but it was hardly used so they got rid of it.
if you want live chat there is sever IRC channels on the Shroomery server, including one for the Growery.

I used to be on IRC every day back in the Shroomery days, it would be cool if we could start getting people from Smoke Lounge and Dome to use IRC
Maybe we can promote the chat in the afternoon one day and just see what happens. See if we can get it to catch on. It is much more effective for communication that the message boards.
