There's an hour long show on CNBC about the Remington 700 series rifles. Been fuckin up since the 60s. It will shoot without pulling the trigger and Remington has known it the whole time and hasn't done shit about it. Good show if any of you are into guns at all.

something is fucked up in the trigger mechanism so when you turn the safety off, it randomly shoots on it's own sometimes. bunch of people have died from it actually.

yeah they've been sued multiple times and somehow like got away with it. that had the guy who invented the rifle back in the 40s on the show, he's 98 now, even he said the shit was fucked up and needed to be fixed

mine did it while i was hunting...not a remington its a steyr which is a very very nice gun...scared the shit out of me and i havent used it since. ive heard of too many stories of people pulling the trigger and notfiring
and then
loading another in the chamber and it going off by itself as soon as the bullet is chambered. or whatever the case is i dont care how it goes off by itself i cant believe the shit still happens..youd think they would/could fix that after the fix incident. i own a 700 im going to go shoot someone and blame the gun and then sue the shit out of them.

Forensic science will put you in jail, but I know you're just kidding anyway.
Why wouldn't Remington just fix the problem? It seems counterproductive to continue making faulty guns.

from what i hear in a big gun mfg corporation like that it will take them tons of money, time lost manufacturing, and a reputation hit(not like there already getting 1) just to change the machine on the line to fix the problem. it is easier for them to (so they say) just throw money at it. my gun got a bad ejector pin and they were like omfg we are so sorry well pick that shit up right away.. they did fixed it and a week later it was pumping casings out like nothing. i actually will not buy American when it comes to Remington. S&W is a good choice. very reliable. i personally liked the TARUS arms 24/7 series.

you know what i did in english class? I call bullshit! I own several mdl.700 variants and have for many years. I feel it is one of the best base model rifles in the world for the price. Never heard of this problem before.

Either way the above rifle you can get for $100. You just have to purchase a scope and a different bolt.

also, seeing that you own more than one you know that every gun is different......in some way or another....this is the same for the bolt. one MINOR flaw in the bolt and it might only fire on its own one time but that one time is enough for me to call it a big fucking problem.

oh it is a great rifle, don't get me wrong, the ones that work right anyway. i personally would love to have one if i knew it was one that was built right and didnt have flaws. but you cant have guns that just go off all willy nilly
