What to do!?
    #433182 - 06/15/10 03:18 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

My crop is now into it's second week of flowering and me being a first-timer, I hadn't realized they would get so fucking tall!! 3 out of 7 of them are 4" from the ceiling, in a 2.5Gal hydro bucket, ontop of a bucket, so that I get proper drainage, otherwise the buckets all fill up and doesn't go anywhere.

Is there something I can do this late, to bring them down towards the light?
I have 12 going in a 5' by 4' space, the other 5 being in soil buckets and on the ground, thus not an issue

Are you running vertical or something? Plants should not be up above the light source...can you clarify that?

Bending or breaking branches is what it will come down to this late in the game. Do a search for supercropping.

I looked into supercropping, because it seems the only reasonable way...
What if I were to remove the reflector and just hang the bulb as high as I can?

Yes, unfortunately I wasn't aware as to just how large they might get with only a 400w...by then it was too late and now that they're flowering they're getting to be fucking massive

Lots of people run bare bulb vertical and that might be a good idea for you. Just suspend the bulb and arrange the plants around it. Make sure to rotate the plants often too.

Pic (not mine) from ICMAG for reference:
