Is this what I think it is? * 1
    #419791 - 05/18/10 12:27 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Lets just say I can easily get to this tree, and I know it is Mimosa of some kind. But I'm just wondering if there is a wrong kind for a DMT extraction.

I'm reading on the extraction right now, and just don't want to get side tracked until I finish copying down the tek into my tek notepad.

As good of a whole view as I could get, I just focused on the top for this.

An small stem that was within reach with leaves.

And my hand against the lower part to show the size of the base (this isn't at the very bottom, but where it is widest is surrounded by weeds and brush).

So is this the right mimosa tree?

Do I need to do more research on my own?

I estimate this tree at being around 13 years old, maybe older. I can remember when it sprouted.

Mimosa is a genus of about 400 species

...the one you want is called Mimosa hostilis    ...and that's not it.

Alright, question answered. If anyone disagrees with him voice it, but otherwise I will take his word for it.

Thanks for the answer.

Actually, that's not even Mimosa

It's Albizia julibrissin.

From reading your link i get you mean it isn't in the genus mimosa.

But also from reading the link I know why I call it a mimosa tree, because that is what it calls the tree.

But that is just me being technical, and figuring out why I thought it was a mimosa.

Yeah, you got it.

It's called a 'Mimosa tree' by everyone I know. The reason is because of the similarity in leaf shape.

However, science calls it Albizia julibrissin, as it's actually not even in the same genus as Mimosa. I only know this because I had the same idea as you once and spent the day researching it only to be let down. I thought I'd try to save you a bit of time. :P

Mimosa hostilis is native only to Brazil, I believe.
