Would an ozone machine like this http://www.amazon.com/Suraki-Ozone-Generator-Room-Purifier/dp/B001HRU53C
Eliminate the odor emitted from the plants or is just a simple tube + carbon filter setup the better route?

Carbon Filter is the way to go. That tiny thing wouldn't do you any good anyways. If you want to go with an ozone generator you would get one that works within your ducting. An ozone generator that is just going in your room is bad for you plants and you.

wow your not kidding 399$!?!? So if ozone machines that sit in the room are bad for plant and human, and inline machines are so expensive there has to be a cheaper way? pump air though a homemade ozone machine?

Dude the one I posted is a bit more heavy duty than what your describing man. This thing is made for an 8 inch ducting system. If you have a ducting system of that caliber your not worried about 399 bucks.

If cash is your limit then check out the posts that come back searching for DIY carbon filter here or on google there is literaly hundreds of threads around and many of them can be made with a trip to wal-mart and 20-50 bucks, fan included. Also if you do use PC's fans fuck the $30 ones they don't last any longer and they only move a little more air then their $3 twins. check www.newegg.com for them

Yeah I know a lot about computers cause I build them. So I'm probably going to go with a pretty top of the line fan from newegg. Probably one of the fans they put into the antec 900 cases.

newegg is the shit for PC parts I build every PC my family uses I wont let anyone waste money unless they really want a warranty or a really low end rig.
Honestly I have bought a few of the rosewill fans and been happy I am running 3 of the 80mm's in this PC and they been there for 2+ years still spin like new...almost. I just wish they had like 5 packs or some shit cause with the plans I am dreaming up I need several more.
