You should paint the outside of those 2 litre bottles, or at least cover them in duct tape. The root system will be a lot happier.

I use translucent cups for seedlings too. Although not clear, I can still see the roots and you are right, it is AMAZING to see how fast the roots can grow compared to the green foliage. Although I have seen plants grow an inch every day before.

What happened to all the pictures prior to 11/29? Did you run out of space or something? If you like watching the roots grow you should try using an aeroponic or dwc set up where you can just lift the lid to see them. I'd like to do that myself sometime. people too often neglect root health and don't pay it any mind. the establishment of your roots during the first couple weeks of growth establish whether or not you will be able to bring the plant to its potential.

I ran out of space. Then I deleted a few pics and looked back into the post , they were still there. So I deleted more. Next day they were gone.I forgot the sever only updates daily. Inverted help me with this and now I'll use my Shroomery acct to help out until I can afford to get a supporter acct here. My grow room remodel has cost alot more than what I was planning on. New light, reflector and ballast should be here by Friday.
In order for me to do hydro I need a cooler.Need to keep water temp around 70f.Tried with an EZ cloner but my water temps stay fron 80 to 90f.(got root rot) I have been acquiring the parts needed to do this with a refrigerator. Will start working on this after I start 12/12 on my current grow. The sub tropics can stay as hot as a whore on payday.

Sounds awesome KK! I envy your situation! I'm limited to a perpetual micro grow so I don't really get to see what I can really do indoors.
Did you get that figured out with the shroomery? I hope so! That's what I've been using for this entire grow journal.
(To all that don't know, You can upload all of your pictures to your shroomery account, and when you get to copy the HTML link that you paste into your thread after the upload is finished, paste it into your Growery post and it will work exactly like you uploaded it to the Growery, thus doubling your existing space w/out buying a supporter account!)

I also use IrfanView to scale down my pictures so they don't take up so much space. It's like a super light easy to use version of PhotoShop.

Day 58 Week 8

The Purple #1 is about 1 1/2 ft. tall. With 2 plants turning out to be males there is now more room after there removal. Can't wait to start cloning.
The AK47 x Diesel is also doing nice. Not any stretching with the light 15 inch's above them.

The grow

Wish I had them under the 1000 watt but not enough plants to justify the money spent.

Quote: but not enough plants to justify the money spent.
You could look at it that way. Or you could compare the yield you get from the plants grown under the T-5's, to those grown under the 1k watt light Hell, even a 600 watter would do you more justice then the Flo's.
I do understand being tight on cash, this is my first grow where I had to seriously watch my budget. I'd love some new fans right now and a longer cool tube, can't spend the 300 bucks or so I'd need to do it.

I'm hopping the air cooled lights will cut down on the elect usage. A/C being what I spend the most elect on.
Right now the main grow room has clones starting in it. If I'm successful in cloning then it will not be long before 12/12.
In the future I want to replace the fluorescent lights with a 400 watt hps with air cooled reflector for mothers. Maybe even smaller wattage light. But 1st need to finish the remodel of the grow room.

Any reason you're propping that lid there with a screwdriver? You normally want 3-4 days with that lid completely closed so the plants can live off of the humidity in the dome while they root.

Good to know. One of the leaves is pressing against the dome and look to wet.Thought I would give it a little room for a bit.
And, hope u can see the purple tint on this clone. It is one used to determine sex.
Both pic's same clone.

Pretty
BTW yah, keep the leaf from pressing against the dome. If it stays soaked it could rot.

Sorry, no pic's of week 11
Day 85 Week 12
43 out of 45 clones made it http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/334805/page/1
The clones on day 14
The new cloning hut,7 inches tall, it has vents on the top

The mothers(hope one is out standing) and AK47 x Diesel
Close up of the AK47 x Diesel

Looking at this pic you can not see all the work to get here http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/315193

A few more weeks and it should be time to get under hps lights. Have noise problems from the inline fan to deal with.

Insulated ducting works to help reduce vibration. You can also build a box which absorbs any vibration of the fan and reduces sound.
Looking good thought!

Hard to tell from the pic but the in line fan is just 2 ft from the wall and vents to the outside world. The noise is from the air coming out.A wosh sound. Think I will need a muffler of some kind. This will be added on the outside. Will build a store room there to cover it up.
