 DWC in an Igloo Cooler: Any Probs?

I was thinking about using an Igloo cooler for a DWC, with clay pellets as a medium for 1 or 2 mothers.
What I was thinking was, using an airstone at the bottom of the igloo, with a perforated grate or screen of some kind about 5" from the bottom, above the Airstone, keeping the water and stone unhindered. Above the top of the grate is the pellet medium, holding the root system for 1-2 Mothers.
Filling it would be manual, and for draining there is the drain already on the Igloo. I figure the water could be replaced every week or so, depending on the EC.
QUESTIONS:
-Has anyone tried this?
-What might happen?
-Any ideas for possible problems or previous experience with this set up?

Maybe this would be better for cloning. The roots of a Mother would probably entangle the airstone eventually?
