Buying this grow tent - worth it? What can you tell me about it?

How many plants can that do? Looking to do a SOG grow probably. Using many CFL bulbs.

can I make this even cheaper?

its 10x10. thats huge. you could fit 10x10 10" pots. So 100 pots. If you're doin SOG you could fit even more because you use smaller pots if I'm not mistaken.

Wow, yeah dude...
If I had that kinda dough I'd buy a sweet light setup.  I see 400w HPS systems on craigslist all day long for 100-200 dollars.
Then a decent vent system.  I don't know exactly how expensive this can get, but I know you can get a sweet blower for $100.
Then I'd build my box or partition the room or whatever...

You could even replicate that thing for probably half the price if you did it yourself.

Actually, you could fit 144 plants in there: 10ftx12in/ft=120in, 120in/10in(pots)=12 pots square.

I think this tent is much to large. Do you actually have 100 square feet to put this on? And lighting it with CFLs is going to be a bitch: even at only 2000 lumens/square foot, you'll need about 100 23 watt CFLs to light the whole thing evenly. This tent is intended to be lit by a few HIDs.

I agreed with dudetron, I'd invest that money in a good lighting and ventilation system. If your room is going to be that big, and you're going to devote >50 square feet to flower (which seems likely), a couple 600W HIDs would be necessary.

So i don't get it. I don't actually need to be inside the tent to be working on the plants? what about the smell?

You definitely need to be inside it, unless your arms are ten feet long...so I guess you could fit 100 pots and still walk around in there. Either way, it's huge. My bedroom isn't that big.

It's after market. No brand name in the add and the picture is of a 4x8 foot tent. Check out the Dark Room by Secret Jardin.

When I went comparing at the hydroponics show in San Francisco the one they had had the best materials and was made the best. Was able to see them all live and in person. Ended up getting a few of them.:getstoned:

you vent your exhaust through a charcoal filter, or at least you should.

you definitely don't want to do a cfl sog in a 10x10 tent. that would be a ton of cfls even if you were using 125watt's.

You dont want to look at these tents as a room that you work in. Instead most people use smaller ones and actually fill them wall to wall with plants. Look for others pics of grow in them and you will see that there is no room around the plants.
