Most headshops around here don't have good brands, just chap shit. But 2 of them do (one of them is right by campus and totally a rip off). I think if I am going to buy a sub-par quality piece it will be good to see it first to make sure it is not totally crooked or fucked up or whatever. I could also get them to give me a discount on some cool stuff to trick it out.

yeah haggle them down for sure or get them to throw free shit in. usually you get the best deal with an owner. owners wanna move the shit. employees don't care as much they have a set limit they are allowed to give.

Yeah I don't know if you checked herb import or whatever but they are expensive as fuck. one of these girls i see blows pipes but she doesn't have a lathe to do bongs anymore otherwise i'd get you the hookup.

What is a lathe? Can she make slides? I have not really looked at prices there, but there is a store called Hippie Gypsy on Canal that carries a bunch of high end glass. I think I'll look there first.

i would recommend this guy Andy. Andrew Jackson Pollock; I don't know if he is around anymore, I used to have his business card, but he did really good work and was one of the most well known blowers around the city.
upon further research it looks like he doesn't even do pipes any more, still some awesome glasswork though. i met him at tips some years ago and he smoked me out on some nice hash.

that's true, the first perc i smoked out of was a "Diesel" tube and my drug dealer who was also my best friend owned it and several roors, but he was also a spoiled rich kid with no job, haha.
but damn i think it's kind of hypocritical when stoners say buying glass is a waste of money... they smoke up all their money...??? (i don't consider it a waste) and seriously what do you do with extra money that isn't spent on bills or necessities... you either save it or buy stuff. most of the stuff could be considered just another "waste" if its not a necessity.
i look at it a different way. money is worthless. spend it on whatever makes you happy.

I could easily afford any of those high end devices, i just opt not to spend that much money on a smoking device when i could use it on something alot more fun. like beer and transpo.
