Besides keeping it cleaner is there any benifits? Never smoked out of one.

This is the first time I have seen a bong with an ash catcher, but if it keeps it clean then it serves a purpose, so I wouldn't say that considering most don't have one and its no more expensive than the ones without.

You put water in both chambers, and it makes the smoke a lot smoother by acting as a second perc. Expecially if you put warm water in the perc closer to the bowl, and cold water in the perc closer to your lungs.

I'm not certain of the reasoning behind it, it's just something I worked out by experience when I had a bong like that. I think warm water filters shit from the smoke more effectively than cold water; if you fill a single-perc bong with warm water, it'll hit smooth, but it's gross because the hit is all steamily warm. But if you have two percs to work with, the cold water in the second one cools the smoke down, so it's still nicely filtered, but it's not all muggy.

i have a delta 9 bong that has an ash catcher. it's kinda nice, i just wish i didn't spend so much money on it. i rarely use it these days

yeah thats not a double stem. its an ashcatcher. standard in quality bongs. does a good job of keeping the bong cleaner.

I like the defuser option on the bong. it keeps the main water clean longer and helps cool the smoke more when you take a mega hit.
On the other hand I have broken every one I've ever had because they are fragile and often are not the most durable, robust things.
