I am not trying to be cute here, I'm asking a serious question.
I see these huge bongs, three feet or whatever, I was wondering what the difference is between a smaller one or a huge ass bong? I don't use bongs, I've only done it once, I like my pipe. But just wondering what the difference was?

Its a change in air pressure, and a longer pull, plus the smoke has alot more time to cool before it gets to you which ultimately lead to a smoother hit. I like the occasional didgeridoo, but the fact it takes ages to pull and you have to use so much breath makes them a special occational smoke for me, that's my friends 3ft

I like shorter bongs. I have a 11" beaker type. Glass on glass set up is the best, nice clean rips with no air leaks at the downstem.
Two reasons why I don't like the huge bongs, it takes too long to pull, and its just a waste. I can pack mine nice and tight and get it around the circle a few times. I load like 3 bowls and everyone is done (excluding me). Not a lot of people I know can handle the smoke from a 3 footer. Ash catchers do help though.

The major thing to consider with a larger bong for me is just sheer volume of smoke you pull.
My wife can't even think about clearing my (now confiscated) 2 1/2 foot beast even though it had a double perc and percolated downstem.
Also, I love bong rips, but I use them sparingly because my lungs HATE me after a night of pulling thick swirling clouds.

I would love to get a 4 footer with a skinny chamber but they are hard to find and one with a big chamber requires too much lung capacity

i would likely fail smoking a bong much over a foot and a half, would just be a waste of precious smoke. and safely storing anything over 2 foot would be a hassle for me anyway.

I don't like big bongs, when I'm smoking by myself I like to pack my bowls a little small so that I know that I'll cash the bowl in one hit. I hate seeing the smoke just float away while I try to decide whether it'd be better to hurry up and exhale so I can take another hit or just keep it in and take my time.. 
But basically, bigger bong, bigger potential rip. I say potential because you might waste most of your lung capacity before you can even get to the smoke, or you might just not have the lungs for that big a bong. I prefer to pace myself and waste as little as possible personally.

I'm with you, I much rather smoke resin than have nothing at all, and also I get a nostalgia kick from the smell.. I remember that smell from my first days of smoking pot..

IMO smaller bongs are more efficient...With larger bongs there's more volume inside so you're pulling more air initially.
I prefer a medium or small bong, around 24 inches or so. You don't have to pull as much air before the smoke reaches your lungs, and the smoke/hits are much much more dense since there is less volume to fill. The smoke doesn't have to expand or travel as far before it's going into your lungs...
I've never understood the point of large bongs (unless you're a bigger person or have a large lung capacity). And it sorta annoys me when people think bigger bongs rip harder. When in reality smaller bongs have more of a punch to them.
As far as the matter of smoking resin, of course I do it when there's no bud on hand (which is a rarity). The best resin is the stuff that collects within the down-stem after passing through an ash catcher. It has a yellow to light brown color, hasn't been touched by heat and there's no plant matter in it. This is the first cool surface the smoke touches and re-condenses on, it's mighty tasty and potent. Fuck that dark brown/black stuff (though desperate times do call for desperate measures  )
Now resin from vaporizers, psshh, that's a whole different story. Shit is incredibly potent, and taste amazing. I would have to say that stuff is around 65%+ THC content....I recently scraped an old volcano bag and got around 5 bong hits worth of a light brown/yellow gooey product. It bubbled and melted into nothing just like a high quality hash or hash oil does, tasted just like good hash, and got me very lifted

Yeah, I've been here so long im just used to mids being the norm and harvests are special treats.

If the pics are on the side, it makes them upright. But i can't keep them upright!
