Thats the same one I have and I love it.
I would skip the hortilux bulb too, I buy home depot bulbs for 8$ and they have never given me a problem. I try to stay away from anything that costs more than twice as much as its generic version.
Otherwise it looks like you have a nice setup built for yourself. I can't wait to see it in action.

So is all that stuff hortilux claims about their bulbs being "perfectly optimized to produce light in the photosynthetic spectrum" just total bullshit? They've got some nice graphs showing their spectrum output, but I would assume the home depot bulbs are basically the exact same thing?

You can buy an extra 400w ballast with the money you would have spent on that bulb alone.

The price on that nextgen ballast is a good price, stick with that. Good brand, fantastic build quality and electronics. The inline fan could be quite less. And the bulb is in fact high dollar.

I know, it looks like a flip flop. Seems most people won't even give someones recomendation the time of day unless you sugar coat it.
And yah, buying from a local store is what you should do anyways, especially since it's for growing pot...no paper trail. I bought a couple things from them but it was spread out over 3 years lol.
I just figured that since they treated me so well, that they should get a heads up from me. Anyway, nuff said about that right.
