thought i'd post some photos of my cloner, might be helpful for people looking to build one themselves. this is the second one i've made and the sprayer manifold pictured seems to work better than the other ways i've tried.
if you're gonnna make one, i'd recommend using an 18gal rubbermaid roughneck, they have the lids that dip down inwards and prevent the cloner from leaking and you don't have to use weather stripping or anything.
for putting the misters into the manifold, i discovered if you get a soldering iron of the right size (the two i've tried both worked) and melt the hole into the manifold carefully, you can then screw the mister in while the pvc is still soft and it results in a tight fitting threaded hole which is EXTREMELY useful in case you need to unclog or clean things.

i havent done a side by side and i havent done rockwool in like 6 months + but it definitely seems like it. i have foot long root bundles in 7-10 days, and its better than rockwool IMO because you're transplanting a bundle of roots right into your medium, rather than waiting for them to grow out of the rockwool and into whatever you're growing in.
the other thing is rockwool can be finicky and shit, with the aero i can load the thing full of cuts, fill it up with water, and leave it alone until a week later when i pull things out, and i havent had a failure yet (although i only ever failed 2 cuts on rockwool out of probably 200ish)
