So far so good PIC'S

Thanks for the help everyone.
I'm venting the air down the sewer pipe. The one way valve I built is working perfect, however the fan is to small. It does not create a positive air flow in the room. Will be fixing that soon.
The kids are over 2 weeks old and doing fine.Have been keeping the light 24/0.Will be putting them under the HPS light today and change the light to 18/6. Sorry no pic's this time around.
This is a cool place.
Peace

Sewer pipe vents are great. Make sure you have a negative pressure in your grow room to ensure all air goes down and out the pipe; a positive pressure would force some air out of the room through cracks and doors.
I would love to see some pictures if possible, baby plants are so pretty.

If you can afford it (heat / cooling / electricity / etc), run the light 24/0.

By positive pressure I mean all air going down the sewer and air coming into the room. I do not want anyone to smell this. There is a window a/c for cooling. Have installed corbon filter over the a/c filter. It will be awhile before I know if that will pull out any smell.
The room 7' wide x 9' long x 7' high with a 1000 watt HPS. 47 kids under that sun bathing.
This is my 1st grow under HPS lights.Have done a few grows under fluorescent lights.
Sorry no way to do pic's at the time. It would be fun to share.

Trimed plants. So many big leaves so fast.Hope this new growth grows as fast.
Been looking at the light vs. number of plants. Now 45 in a 4 x 4 area. These plants are going to need more room. Means more light. So This project is growing faster Than I thought it would. Adding a 1000 watt MH. New area 4 x 8.
I like the over lapping light.

Yes, untill I added the 2nd 1000 watt. Its a MH. Did not expect the grow to grow so fast.
If I've read right.HPS or MH can be used from begaining to end of grow.
MH = veg time HPS = bud time, if to be done by the book.

My computer was in the shop. I hate it when that happens.
Out of 45 plants only 18 turned out to be female. 13 days of 12/12 before the sex started showing up.At 22 days under 12/12 all plants have shown sex. Back under 1 light. Can save some money.
Smoked some of the male leave
Jan 10 will be 90 days. Not long before this grow is over. Need to start planning the next grow.
One day pic's may follow.

Is that a dimmer for a light or a fan? There are two different types. If it's the wrong type of dimmer you could risk a fire, just a warning.
As far as getting more air moved through that pipe, I would recommend getting rid of the black corrugated pipe. Rigid metal ducting, not flex tubing, will move much more air because it has less resistance. Just remember to avoid 90o turns and you should see quite a difference.
How far away are your lights from the tops of your plants?

1) Thanks for the warning. It is a dimmer switch. Cost 5 or 6 dollars. Will take care of that When I return home. Just will not use it when I'm not there.
2)The sewer vent is in the floor. So there is one big 90 in there.Did it like this to make the one way valve work that I built. Also were the heat is.
Will have to set back and think about this. The valve has to be in there are sewer smells take over very quick.
3)Lights are 18 to 24 inches. Use the back of my hand to see if to hot.
The 1st thing I learned is MGMC sucks. Going to the big city in the morning. Hopefully found a place that sells FoxFarm products. Also will be looking for ph and soil testing equipment.
The 2nd thing is I going to need some major mothers to supply a 4 x 8 room with all females.
Not going to get much bud this time around. Hope its dank.
Again, Thanks to everyone.

73 days into grow. Only 2 plants look good and their bottom leaves are starting to turn yellow. MGMC sucks big time.
MJ is a tuff plant. Even the crapy looking plants are putting out buds. Not much smell but very sticky.
I hope the red hairs start showing soon.
Will not get much bud out of this. Some is better than none.

Those ladies aren't looking so hot. They need more light, bigger pots, and better soil. It's a tribute to how hardy the plant is that you are going to pull bud off of them. You have a good looking space there, I bet you could grow some heady plants in there with a little help. Keep us updated with pics.
To a great harvest!

The 1st plant turned about 50% red hair. So I thought now is a good time to sample. A friend and I bonged up a 1/2 gram. Still stoned 2 hours later.

Last update on this grow. Day 91
Still running the light12/12. Some plants are slow as far as hairs turning red.
Will Keep the light on for a few more days.
Have gotten 9 seeds so far. Might of been that herm. Don't know, I watched so hard for males. Will try and see if they will germinate. Just want to know if they are good. Don't want to work with this strain(of bag seed) any more. Not what I'm looking for.
Learned alot on my 1st hps grow. The plants grew so much faster with hps than fluorescent and the buds were so much thicker.
Again Thanks to ALL.

Only 9 seeds is a blessing, it allows you to become a true cultivator, a creator of the ultimate marijuana strain in your opinion. Looking great so far man. Burned plants suck, i know. Can't wait to see results.
How do you plan to cure your pot? Cedar box or Jelly-jar ?

I may post a last pic. The plants look sick. Not really proud of the results. I am learning.
Jelly jar. I have a few left from my days at the Shroomery.

I can only guess what went wrong But the bud coming off these plants is better than what came out of the bag.
OK, I smoked a few plants.

Not only could grow variables affected the outcome of your bud; but the bud produced by your plant will not be the same as what came out of your bag, not even the same strain. When you found the seed from the bag in the beginning, the plant which had the seed was polonized (most likely anyways) by a male of a different strain. So in theory only half of the genetics from the old bag will be carried over. IMO.
Also generally when you see those "foxtails" on the top of main colas where they start to just get skinny/stemmy it tends to mean there is not likely any more worthwhile growth from the plant. (as far as this harvest anyways). IMO
Also, did you clip all all the fan leaves off, or did they slowly die away?
Good luck!

They fail on there on.Weather it was bad soil,ph or I over did the ferts trying to correct things. I don't Know.
The clons are dong the same thing. Two of them are in sand from outside an two are in Fox Farm Ocean Forest
The two on the left are in sand, two on the right are Ocean Forest.
edit: The two in Ocean Forest have the better looking color
This shit starts on the bottom leaves and works it way up. In the end the healthly plants did the same thing. Wish I new why.

Well by any means you should transplant the third one from the left, look at all the roots at the bottom of the cup! Their growth can really be hindered when the roots don't have enough room to stretch and grow.

I know. Both the Fox Farm plants are doing this but sence these plants are showing the same problem as the mom. I don't think I want to work with them. Waste of time IMO. I have order seed ,with luck I will see them any day. Damn sure don't want to pass any probem on to them.

Stick to the ocean forest alone next time. Who knows what kind of foreign contaminants and diseases you bring in from outdoors with that junk. Not only that but sand is a terrible soil because of how little nutrients it will hold.
