Me and Flea are homies and crazy about the new wave.
Especially when it comes to Texas.  Everything eventually comes to Texas.
I am moving to the Lone Star State.
I am depressed and need some Peyote.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has utilized cannabis for nearly 1,800 years, dating back to the legendary Shennong Ben Cao Jing. Historically, various parts of the plant were used to treat pain, malaria, and mental health. Modern TCM practice relies strictly on the plant’s seeds (huomaren) to lubricate the intestines and treat constipation.
Ancient Uses vs. Modern Practice
In classical texts, cannabis was classified as a "superior" medicinal and even experimented with as an early anesthetic. However, modern clinical practice and the Chinese Pharmacopeia primarily focus on one specific part of the plant:
Seeds (huomaren): The hemp seeds are used as a moistening laxative to nourish the blood, moisten the intestines, and relieve constipationβ€”especially for the elderly or those with post-illness deficiencies.
Historical Uses: Leaves and flowers were historically made into poultices for pain and inflammation or used for their psychoactive properties to calm the spirit.
Cannabis Through the Lens of TCM Theory
In TCM, health is maintained by harmonizing the "Three Treasures": Jing (essence), Qi (vitality), and Shen (spirit). Cannabis interacts with these energies in specific ways:
Yin & Yang: Cannabis (specifically the buds/flowers) is considered highly yin in nature and has a descending, cooling, and sedating energy.
The Three Treasures: Practitioners note that while cannabis can open the mind or provide a spiritual experience, prolonged, excessive use on its own can deplete Jing (essence) and cloud or scatter the Shen (spirit) over time.
Modern Adaptations & Integration
While cannabis as a whole herb was largely phased out of traditional dispensaries, modern research has renewed interest in how phytocannabinoids correlate with TCM principles.
Endocannabinoid System (ECS): Modern practitioners frequently bridge Western researchβ€”such as the effects of CBD on the ECSβ€”with TCM ideas of bodily balance (homeostasis).
Education: Many prominent TCM institutions, such as the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, have hosted symposia to help practitioners understand how to safely incorporate cannabinoids alongside acupuncture and herbal formulas.
To learn more about how cannabis and hemp seed integrate into modern wellness routines, you can review literature published by the National Center for Biotechnology Information.

It truly is medicine. They gave me a dose in the hospital when I crashed my bike and split my head open. I didn't notice any difference when they administered a wide variety of opiates, fentanyl among them.  I cant say if it was cumulative and the cannabis finally tied it all together, or if it was the cannabis alone, but I know it was only after that THC pill that I was finally able relax and let go. It wasn't so much the pain management, there was an aspect of that, but there was also a coming to terms and accepting it, and that heavy stoned drowsiness too, that people describe as "couch lock". It was a truly profound experience that I could continue to ramble on about, it really made me respect cannabis that much more. A vast majority of those who use it regularly take it for granted and the people who seek to limit or criminalize its use are enemies against God, and one of his most perfect, precious creations, and gifts to mankind.

Edit* Didnt mean to bring down the post something positive thread, I guess the positive thing is that I'm alive and whole:tensegrin:

Crushed orbital around left eye, broken nose (still is), multiple fractured vertebrae, left sinuses partially crushed and cerebral spinal fluid was leaking out of nose, deep lacerations on face and on my neck where barbed wire almost cut my throat. There was significant nerve damage as well and my sense of smell is around 75% gone, I'd say, my taste is better than my smell but still significantly reduced. I want to say they saw some brain bleeding or bruising in their scans, I dont remember. This was all WITH a helmet on.

The orbital fracture made my eyes look lopsided. The docs were concerned that the bone would snag the muscles around my eye and that I'd lose function. If that had been the case, they would have had to fix it. But since my eye works, its just cosmetic and I decided against it. My nose affects my breathing some, but I have enough function I'm not too concerned with it. I was really fed up with being at hospitals, and the recovery would've just been more pain in my face and I didn't want to deal with it.

These are not my pictures, but essentially the same condition. Enough people I've met told me they haven't noticed it, its really only if you look at me directly straight on (which is how you look at yourself in the mirror, so its all I see). It took some getting used to, there was a bit of an emotional toll with it. With the symmetry gone, its like looking at a different person, each side of my face is two different people. I'm mostly over it now. I was wearing sunglasses quite a lot there a while back.

Not to mention just not feeling like yourself. It's hard to describe a TBI, Kinda dissociated, and manic. Youre more of a witness and not really experiencing. Toss some depression in there and you got a big ol soup of self pity that I had to over come. I think my cannabis use during my recovery was a part of my path toward healing. Its taken a long time to feel "normal" again.

It's positive that I know about this now.  Thanks.
I'm Fasting Water and taking tastes of Herb Extracts.
I also have some Cloves soaking in my Water Bottle.
I like to chew one every now and then.
It's good for oral hygiene.

Can you still walk?  Are you functional?

Yes, still able to walk and function. Really grateful for that. Could've gone a whole lot of worse ways.

Occasionally if I'm doing something tedious my back will start hurting where it broke, that may have more to do with me being out of shape though.
And I think I may have pulled/tore something because my right shoulder hasn't been quite the same either.

I'm fasting too. I'm eating one meal every other day. Trying to get this weight off, I've been shirking it, the first day is always hardest trying to commit to it. Once you sleep though, your appetite beds down too and you go into retention mode.  I'm only on day five of this schedule.
Today is a fast day. Sure makes you appreciate food more. It dont even have to be that tasty, its always delicious when youre hungry. It really is the way we ought to live.

Hunger makes the best meals, fatigue makes the best pillow.

Only trouble now is trying to contain yourself when its an meal day. When your appetite wakes up you just want to stuff your face.
If you wait till evening to eat, its easy to go to bed and not think about it, but that means you basically have to go two days without eating, and fatigue sometimes sets in.
If you have a good breakfast or lunch, you spend the rest of the day trying to convince yourself not to eat again. Eventually you get into the rhythm of it, but I'm still adjusting.

So far I'm down six pounds. I'm sure a lot of it was food/water that was already in my intestines when I started, but I'm still counting it because I like to see it!
212 to 206
I think I ideally need to be in the 170's there abouts. I got down to about 185 last time I did this and I still had a ways to go, I wasn't quite satisfied.

I need to start exercising too, but I just know it's going to make me sore for days, and I haven't quite gotten up the nerve yet. Trying to focus on appetite right now,and staying sober.
If I can start cranking out some pushups and running some miles, I can definitely start peeling the weight off easy.

48 hrs is a good period. It's right in that sweet spot where you can definitely feel you've been in ketosis for a bit, but you havent gotten deep into that fasting state.
Longest I've done was 6 days, I was shooting for a week, but I can never seem to get over feeling bad. You get quick to fatigue and irritable, and I've got too much to do. I end up just wanting to lay around and do nothing. Last time I did a multi day fast I had a terrible headache the whole time.

Yes, the junk food is a definite weakness. My uncle called em "Zu's Zu's", all the chips and snack cakes.
Store by me started selling these chips from New Orleans called "Chee Wees", theyre dirt cheap and tasty as fuck. They paired well with a six pack. I was hitting em hard!

There I go fantasizing about being a fat fuck again...

I find preparing meals in advance helps alot.

Sounds good.
I completed a 45 day Fast, just Water, no drugs.
I had been eating organic for a year and a half and was living camped out in a Redwood Forest!
Peace.

Damn! 45 days is hardcore!
I couldnt imagine. I bet you dropped all your weight

What inspired you to go so long!? How did you feel after?

And what did you eat to break it? I always read it can be hard to come off those really long fasts like that and you have to be really mindful of what you break with

The world record is 382 days, but that guy was enormous!

I was lit for 3 days after I broke Fast.
I was Vegan.  I ate a lot of sprouted grain bread, almond butter, lettuce, tomato and red onion sandwiches.
I was homeless for a year, living in the forest.  My clothing smelled like almonds!
I wanted to keep Fasting, but I felt genuinely hungry.  I think I had burned up all my organ fat.

I was thinking about poasting, but nobody else was, and if I was the only one doing it I’d feel like I was talking to myself.

I planted some seedlings in the garden. Once I can identify the males, they’re going straight into the juicer.
