Flowering question

I have a friend who took his indoor plant, which was under 18/6 lighting, and planted it outside last month.
Don't ask me why, he's not that bright.
My concern is that the plant already had buds on it.
Will those buds survive the summer and grow super big and juicy, or will they wither and die?

I honestly don't know, but I'd imagine that they would stop developing as the plant re-enters vegetative growth, and then possibly start developing again in late summer/early fall as the day/night cycle shortens.
This probably means that the portion of the bud that currently exists will be well past that stage of optimal "ripeness", and may be mostly brown trichomes. It wouldn't surprise me if the sugar leaves supporting calyx development began to yellow and fall off either.
But I'll say again, I've never revegetated a plant before, so I'm guessing. Hopefully someone with more experience can weigh in.

My friend has a green thumb. He took it from inside to outside without shocking it because the plant is still growing and looking healthy as fuck. I was just concerned about the budding situation. I don't think he realized that putting it out early like he did would induce the flowering stage.
Like I said, he isn't all that bright.
Good guy but kinda slow.
