Remember back in the day when all you had to say was 'My computer has a virus' and people are all like 'Oh I understand I hate that shit'.
Well it just dawned on me recently that today's version of that is 'It went to my junk mail folder'.
Missed a meeting? Late on a bill? Wife caught you cheeting? It just went to your junk mail! Classic.
Tell me about some excuses that have really done the trick for you, and if you got em, some situations you've gotten yourself out of hot water like it ain't no thing.

Take pictures next time you're on your daily route when it's busy/crowded as fuck, so you can text them to people you're late to meet with in the future. "Sorry I'm late Tony, look at this crazy traffic out here". Don't be a noob and send photos taken in the daytime during the evening or something like that. Because then people will realize you're a lying sack of shit and will rightly not want to hang out with you.

It didn't work, but I had a coworker tell us he accidentally took nyquil instead of dayquil. My boss's response was "Well, if you're that stupid, you shouldn't be working here."

I don't have this problem but I guess I'd say I only had access to a Linux pc and couldn't figure out how to work it? I don't know, it depends on the situation.

In high school it became a classic excuse to get out of PE/Weight Lifting by dropping a 35 lb plate (or more) on your foot. At one point we had something like 6-8 lazy bastards on the bench because they'd rather self-injure than participate.
