I live in a small flat with my gf, buying it is just too expensive so thinking of just growing it. So what's the cheapest and small kit? I live in the uk Looking around £100-140

For one or two small plants I suggest using a 150w HPS. Here in the states you can get one for $60. For a growing medium I personally like hydro. You could do DwC style grow for 1-2 plants. For that you need a storage tote, net pots, fish pump ( the more holes it has the better),stone bubbler, nutes,pH up/down, pH meter, cal mag (just in case you need it), and clay pebbles. You also need fans for ventilation.

From what you've said about needing to hide the smell, you really need to look into carbon filters (can filters or something similar).
