The last ones I saw were the True Cost (about clothing industry) and Meru (adventure/sports), both pretty good.

I dont have any titles sorry, it was random youtube videos I  watched awhile ago, I dont even have any clue what they were about anymore, but they were better then UFO or Wildlife documentaries.

Usually anything by Ken Burns is pretty good.  I recommend the civil war series he put together especially.

About the John Muir Trail in the Sierras.

Smoke a bowl and just cruise through it.  Gorgeous scenery, light, and a forest ranger who is like a fucking shaman.  It's fantastic.

I always loved Baraka and Samsara, both by the same director. They are purely visual, excellent journey through our impact on the planet and our ways to adapt to different contexts.
