I was wondering what the general opinion is on autoflower. What's the fastest seed to harvest? Any cool varieties? Are they really not potent? What are some good ones to start with?

Autos have come a long way since the original Lowryder was released. Some can be really heavy producers. Just ask mrshroom. I grew a critical auto earlier this year and was pleased with the results. You should also let autos flower for about 11-12 weeks. Their trics don't turn amber most of the time so you go by leaf color. You can clone autos as well. But it is much more difficult then the traditional cloning method since it uses tissue culture.

Hey thanks for the link and good info as always man. I've heard you can clone autos during the veg stage using tissue cultures. I dunno if that's my game yet but I'm sure I can do it, I can use agar fairly well so maybe down the line I'll try.

The only autos I've grown are auto Jack, pretty low maintenance and good bud but it took much longer than the estimated finish time. Est finish was 65 days from seed and I believe it took about 95 days til finish and the yeild was only about 7g per plant but the time and yield could have been factors of being a somewhat beginner grower..
Just received a 5 pack of cream of the crop cash crop automatics I won in the sponsors forum that I am looking forward to checking out

Unless I'm overlooking something, I'd suggest avoiding autoflower unless you have special circumstances that require your seeds go into flower out of your control.
It's hard enough finding premium quality keepers from regular seeds, and you can't even take clones of ruderalis crossed stuff.
