Does pollen effect potency?

Does anyone know anything about pollinations effect on the potency of female plants? Does seed formation even cause a decrease in potency? If it does, does it effect the entire plants potency or is it localized? at least I was under the impression that seedy weed has shitty potency because of the seeds

Yes definitely. im not sure about the entire plant vs localized thing but its probably area specific, like per individual bud site. Years ago I grew silver pearl that was super potent. Then I had a herm dust a crop of it. Totally riddled with seeds. The kind of shit where a quarter might roll a joint... Well it went from super high potency to barely getting you high. Like night & day...

Well that makes sense that the plant relocates energy into the production of seeds, but I wonder if it's only the area where the bract forms the seed that's effected and I wonder if it stops creating the active compounds that get you high or if they are just dramatically reduced. I'm mostly curious if the whole plant is effected by seed production in some way.

I'm pretty sure it's the whole plant. The reason the trics get stickier and stickier is the female plant is trying to get male pollen. Hence why once it gets pollen tric production stops and it focuses on seed production like budgrower said.
