I'm going to try my first indoor grow, but there are a lot of options out there for equipment. The best, as I can tell, for my budget, is a grow tent (36x20x62), and a 2' 6 tube t5 light fixture, (also by Apollo Horticulture)
Has anyone used these products before? If so would u recommend them?
Also, the tent is 20" deep, the light fixture is 19" deep. Is that cutting it too close? I've never seen these products before and I'd very much like to avoid buying a second fixture. This is also the first time I'm asking in public for this kind of advice, and I'm looking forward to many discussions. Thanks in advance.

I'm about to buy a ballast from appollo horticulture. They seem like a good company but I won't know until I've tried out the ballast.
You'll be alright with the 1" margin. It might just make it a little hard to hang. How many plants are you thinking about growing? You wanna go hydro, soil or soiless?

I'm thinking 3, 4 at most, in 3 gallon pots. Using soil.
I have 3 more auto fem seeds, and 3 photos for 2nd round. Can plant the other 3 autos when I get better soil tomorrow.
At 26w each, will the 6 tube fixture, totalling 156w, be enough light for 4 plants in that size grow tent?

It will be enough but you could use more and get better results. How many lumens are those bulbs each?
So you're growing autos the first time around and photo strains the second time around?

I chose the autos because they're supposed to be faster to harvest, about 2 months according to the specs posted by the seed sight I bought from (Herbie's head shop).
For first month I was thinking 6 6400k bulbs at 2100 lumens each. Second month use 2700k bulbs at 2200 lumens each. So 12,600-13,200 total, in a 36x20x62 space.

Hmm. Yeah with an Mh or Hps you could be pulling a lot more lumens. Have you thought about maybe mounting some CFL's on the walls judt for an extra boost?
You can still get it done with those lights though. For four plants, that is going to keep things relatively small. You should go with the photo strains honestly. The extra time is way worth what you get. Autos are very stress sensitive. If you're a new grower and making mistakes it could take a major toll.

If I were to change light setup to a 600 watt mh HP's, running 18 hrs a day, about how much more $ could I expect my monthly bill to go up. Just a rough idea?
