If all you have is a lamp like pictured you can tape some white paper or mylar around the lamp in a cone shape to better focus the light. Although if you use paper it could come lose and fall against the bulb then catch fire. Maybe aluminum would work, dunno.

so I got rid of the mood lite & took my heat lamp from my bearded dragons tank wow the plant exploded in growth!

Dont get that heat lamp to close 
You will kill it!
Not a good light source bud I know you have some cfls ,ever house does. Use those then get a proper light to flower out in.

It will to a point. It gives off so much heat that you have to keep it so far away. Right? So the plant will stretch like a muther hupper. And I dont think you want that!
Just sayin, Do what works for you!

depending on the intensity of the lamp, if the lumens are lower your plant will stretch more rather than the nodes being tightly packed together, this may be what you are seeing.
