I am a n00b, currently growing a few plants in soil indoors, i have misc equipment laying around here that might help me move toward an automated set up but i'm unsure which method i should go with. If you had this equipment, and have very little budget to add to it*, what kind of set up would YOU make?
equipment: 1x 2.5ftx4ft t5 8-bulb fluorescent grow light (main 12/12 light for CFL grow) 3x 4ft t8 2-bulb fluorescent shop lights 1x 1.1 amp 3/8" sub pump (gph not listed) 2x aquarium air pumps 1x 25 gallon c02 tank (lacking regulator) 1x 6ft folding table 1x 25 gallon fish tank
*please include things you would absolutely need to buy to complete your setup
honestly you probably want to shop around for a while or look at guides long enough that you can answer that yourself. I'm guessing your goal is to save as much time as possible, but it could be beneficial to you and your wallet to invest time into understanding what you need yourself. I also don't know what else you'd need for an automated setup, but I recently saw this video for a cheap aeroponics bucket system...
Thanks! All i do is read, incessantly. That video was too n00b for me, but you did turn me to check out you-tube for other peoples systems, so thank you!
I guess the point of this thread was to see what other, more experienced people would do with this equipment before i committed to any particular system first.
After scouring you-tube, I had come down to 2 systems: NFT via PVC pipe, or the dutch bucket system.
I am going to go with the NFT system for now because it requires less shit i would need to buy to get it to work and, with less SPOF to worry about.
If anyone has any constructive criticism to add, please be my guest =)
