I have heard and experimented that metal cages around the plants can cause headaches. Has anyone else heard of that? I use twine to tie up my plants and haven't had those headaches since.

No but I have heard that if you tie them up with nylon string that it can cause anal warts. 
Just busting your balls a little and no I hadn't heard that.
